Hello! I wrote a short script for my friend Chris Jopp, and he is trying to raise the money to make it! If you have a few extra bucks, please donate to this (very worthy!) cause!

Thank you!

Hello there! My buddy and fellow graduate has eloquently recapped one of the projects I am working on now! Stay tuned for stills and clips and the finished video!

Although my commencement from MCAD was about a month ago, the ghost of the great institution looms large in my life still. I was asked by fellow graduate and compadre Ethan Holbrook to assist in documenting the latest Labor Camp performance piece Empty Words during the Twin Cities soon-to-be annual Northern Spark Festival.
Headed up by Piotr Szyhalski, his work with Labor Camp focuses on the exquisite beauty that can be found in hard work and routine. The site linked to above will give you a far better idea of this than I ever could.
Empty Words ran from 9pm the evening of June 4th to 6am the morning of June 5th in and around the Father Hennepin Bluffs Park bandshell. The performance included spoken word audience interaction, repetitious  musical themes performed by a variety of different musicians and various routines involving white flags.
Pictured above, you can see the centerpiece of the entire performance in which a large flag was raised and lowered in reference to the famous image from Iwo Jima. Other performers were positioned at stands with smaller flags doing various routines. There I am off to the right, camera at the ready.
All in all, it was a supremely surreal experience, but a mighty important one as well. Images, both moving and still are coming soon, but Ethan and I have amassed several hours of footage that will take some time to wade through.
Keep your eyes and ears open.
